How Can I Help?

Whether you've experienced grief yourself or you're watching someone else grieve, there is a good chance you've wondered, 'How can I help?'

Be there. Even if your loved one wants to be alone or tries to isolate, there are quiet ways you can show you care while granting that space.

By sending them a "just because" card with a funny memory, a silly joke, or just saying hi, they have a great distraction from their grief for even just a minute.

Dropping off or mailing a basket of snacks or comfort items - think blankets, fuzzy socks, a puzzle or activity book, or a gift card can go a long way to show you care without over inserting yourself in their grief.

Sending a set of Forget Me Not Notes can be a great way to send scheduled support and give them a positive reason to get out of bed to check the mail.

Perhaps maybe the most impactful of all, say their loved one's name. By sharing memories or acknowledging that their person lived a life, you can help them keep the memory of their life alive.

Whatever you choose, however you offer support, know that you are making a difference, one connection at a time. The best way to give support is to acknowledge that their grief is not forgotten.
