Emotions are Present

Day to day and moment to moment, we are all susceptible to change in feelings, up and down emotions, and to be thrown for a loop. Have you noticed this being exponentially true with your journey with grief?


It's okay! That makes you human. Let's sit with that, and explore it a bit. Name it.


What emotions are present right now (sadness, anger, longing, loneliness, peace, gratitude, nostalgia)?

Maybe you're feeling a mix of all of those. Maybe you experience them all in a day, on a rollercoaster of emotions. Reflect on it, acknowledge your triggers, and remember it's okay to feel joy. You may have to give yourself permission to feel happy, joy, comfort, solace. That doesn't mean you forgot them, you stopped loving them, you've moved on without them, or anything else. In a world where both joy and grief exist, let's remember together that they can coexist.


Whether you're feeling extra sad, or given yourself permission to find peace and light, give yourself grace today. Feel the joy when you're ready, and honor your grief when it surfaces. Moment by moment, one day at a time.
